Power outages reported across the state

More than 8,600 homes are without power across the state including more than 4,100 in the Oklahoma City Metro area, the Oklahoma Gas and Electric Company reports.

Most of the outages were caused by ice and freezing rain coating trees and power lines which have resulted in dangerous collapses.
 
The Norman area also has more than 1,500 homes without power.
 
Even OG&E has been affected, as the companies website has been down since about 9 a.m. Saturday morning.
