NEWCASTLE — A Texas woman and her unborn child died Saturday after a two-car collision in McClain County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

About 11 a.m., Eva Heide, 25, of Lamesa, Texas, was a passenger in a northbound pickup on the H.E. Bailey Turnpike. The driver of the pickup unsafely changed lanes and a nearby car took evasive action onto the shoulder of the road, troopers said.

The car came back onto the roadway and struck the pickup in the right rear tire, and the pickup struck the side of a bridge and rolled, troopers said.

Eva Heide and passenger, Isaac Heide, 1, were thrown from the pickup. Eva Heide, who was seven months pregnant, was struck by the car. She and the unborn child died at the scene, troopers said.

The driver of the pickup, Isaac Heide, 27, and the two other passengers, Isaac Heide, 1, and Jake Heide, 19, all of Lamesa, Texas, were taken to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City and admitted in serious condition. The toddler was taken by helicopter.

Eva Heide and the 1-year-old were not using seat belts, troopers said.
