MORRISON — Cale James scored four touchdowns, accounted for 267 total yards, scored a two-point conversion and intercepted a pass as Morrison blew past Christian Heritage 48-10 Saturday to advance to the Class A semifinals.
James, a senior running back and defensive back, credited the Morrison offensive line for his rushing performance, accomplished mostly on sweeps.
"Our offensive line dominated today,” said James, who rushed for 153 yards on 10 carries. "Anyone could run behind that line.”
Morrison (12-1) advances to the Class A semifinals with the win in its first year as an 11-man school. Morrison won 13 state championships as an 8-man power.
Morrison’s semifinal game will be against Hennessey, which beat Hominy on Friday. The time, date and location will be announced Monday.
Morrison ran for 387 yards on 35 carries as a team on Saturday.
"They were gonna take away our passing game, so we hit them with the run,” Morrison coach Cory Bales said.
