Principal returns to Oklahoma City school after deployment

For almost two decades, Perry has served in the Navy Reserve. For one of those decades, she's been intermittently deployed to countries such as Kuwait and Afghanistan.

Last year, Perry left her post as principal at Stonegate Elementary for her fourth deployment. This time, she was sent to Afghanistan's Farah province to be a liaison with the province's director of education.

A week before her deployment in Afghanistan ended, the senior chief petty officer made a phone call to the Oklahoma City Public Schools, hoping to get another job.
