uot; They like the overall control of how their home gets built, and they like saving money on a new home.”

How much, exactly, are UBuildIt customers saving?

"Our average home is a 2,800-square-footer that appraises for $320,000 after my customers have spent $250,000 on construction,” Brauderick said.

That instant equity makes a lot of people happy.

Other customers use UBuildIt to pack higher-quality finish materials and construction details into their home.

"Look at a $180,000 production house and a $180,000 UBuildIt house,” Brauderick said, "and you’ll see the quality difference in every inch of the house.”

UBuildIt charges a flat fee to help customers complete the design phase of homebuilding, creating working plans with a licensed designer and a structural engineer.

During construction, UBuildIt receives a fee per square foot.

"We’re available 24/7 to make sure everything is on track,” Brauderick said.

Customers also can contract with UBuildIt to act in a full project management capacity, remaining on site throughout construction for what Brauderick described as "a few dollars more” per square foot.

"Communication is key,” he said.

"I’m always available with information for customers. Or sometimes they just need someone to listen. And that’s where the seminary training comes in handy.”
