Attorney Irven Box represents Jerome Ersland, who is set to go to trial on Sept. 13 for first-degree murder in the May 2009 shooting death of 16-year-old Antwun Parker.

But Box says District Attorney David Prater asked District Judge Tammy Bass-LeSure on Monday to step aside. Box says Prater made the request during a meeting with Bass-LeSure and Oklahoma County presiding District Judge Patricia Parrish.

Box says he did not attend the meeting and does not know why Prater made the request. Prater declined comment. Bass-LeSure and Parrish also declined comment.
