PURCELL — Children can learn about bugs during two special programs planned this month at Purcell Public Library, 919 N Ninth St.
The library is hosting "Please, Bug Me” at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. Local entomologist Jim Hurst will display his award-winning bug collections. He will discuss the various insects and talk to students about how to start a collection. Children will learn about bees during another workshop at 10:30 a.m. July 15. Jerry Morris, president of the Noble Beekeepers Association, will talk about the different jobs bees do, how a hive works, and what products bees make. A hive will be on display at the event. For more information, call 527-5546. The programs are part of the Pioneer Library System's children's summer reading program, "Catch the Reading Bug.”
