Putnam City honors employees, volunteer

The Putnam City Public Schools Foundation presented Golden Apple Awards on Monday to four people in recognition of their service and dedication to district students.

Awards were given to Barbara Brown, a custodian at Ralph Downs Elementary School; Catherine Carnline, director of Homebound Services; Esther Brazeal, a kindergarten teacher at Overholser Elementary and Chantal Morris, the PTA president and a volunteer at Wiley Post Elementary.

Each honoree received a check for $200.

The honors are given each year to employees and volunteers who promote excellence in education.
