Putnam City North football: Panthers turning to several young players

If you understand Putnam City North coach Bob Wilson’s sense of humor, you know he’d probably tell you that his age and failing memory are the reasons he can’t name very many of his returning starters.

But the truth is, the Panthers just don’t have that many starters coming back.

Hit hard by graduation, PC North will turn to several young players to try to get them back to the playoffs again after last year’s 6-5 campaign.

“We’re gonna be pretty young,” Wilson said. “Kaedyn Fuller is a returning guy at receiver, and one lineman, Nathan Lowery, and those are the only real offensive returners we have. Defensively, we’ve got part of our secondary back and a linebacker or two, but that’s about it.”

Wilson will turn to junior Chase Sparks at quarterback to lead an offense coordinated by Rod Richardson, who fills the void of Scott Burger, now the head coach at Edmond North.
