The defense of Memphis guard Tony Allen has become a major force in this Western Conference semifinal series. Allen chatted with the media after the Grizzlies' 103-97 overtime victory in Game 4 on Monday night:

Q: How did you guys come back from the 17-point deficit?

A: “We're a team that is going to stay together. We're going to get two down on the lead. Our mindset was just to get it to 10. We were fortunate enough to get it to eight. Coach (Lionel Hollins) came in the locker room, and he's good with those speeches. We came out in the third quarter and just wanted to respond. We were able to get the lead, and our guys were our guys. Marc Gasol, Zach Randolph and Mike Conley, they were our guys. They were the heroes tonight.”

What did Hollins say at halftime?

“We knew that first half wasn't our best style of basketball. We came in the locker room and looked at film and corrected a few things. Coach ended the film early, we didn't watch it all, we knew he was upset and the guys responded to that. We came out in the third quarter and just fought hard. Obviously we won that quarter, it was 28-20, but we held our hats on the defensive end, and that spoke loudly in the second half.”
