Thunder rookie James Harden
What has the team accomplished over the past few weeks in voluntary workouts?

"A lot of unity. Teamwork. Communication. Things like that. Whether it’s talking on the defensive end or just learning each other. That’s been the most important thing. We played pick-up games but also conditioned a lot and spent time in the weight room.”

→What are your emotions like now that the season’s finally here?

"I don’t want to get too crazy because then I’ll be tired and I won’t do so well. So I want to just relax and go into it trying to work hard and learn. That’s the most important thing for a rookie is just to learn, have an open mind and go out there and compete every single day. That’s what my mindset is.”

→Many of the guys went to Washington, D.C. to support Kevin Durant for his birthday. Was that a good bonding experience for you guys?

"Definitely. It was like eight of us out there. I don’t think any other NBA team would do that. But we went out there and had a great weekend. We bonded and had a lot of laughs. Those things carry over to the court as well.”
