Berrey will serve a four-year term on the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation. The council is an independent federal agency that promotes the preservation, enhancement and productive use of the United States' historic resources, and advises the president and congress on national historic preservation policy.

"I am honored to receive this appointment by President Bush and look forward to serving and representing not only Native Americans and Native Hawaiians on the council, but all American citizens providing input from the Native perspective with zealous patriotic pride," Berrey said in statement.

United States Sen. Jim Inhofe, R-Tulsa, said that Berrey has worked hard to bring relief to those who live near Superfund site at Tar Creek.

"I know John will bring the same kind of innovation and dedication to his work on the council," Inhofe said in a statement.

If Inhofe is for Berrey, then Berrey needs to be looked at more closely. Don't trust Inhofe at all, as far as Indian relations. Don't trust him. He doesn't care anything about the tribes or the environment.
