Questioning hospitals that limit, waive fees to shooting victims

Published: July 30, 2012

“Hospitals to limit, waive fees” (Associated Press, July 26) says, “Three Denver-area hospitals taking care of people wounded in the Colorado theater shooting say they will limit or completely wipe out medical bills for the victims.”

Why don't these hospitals do this for all their patients? Do the nurses and doctors get paid their normal salaries and fees? Who pays for these health care specialists? Or are they donating their time and skills also? Someone will pay for these services.
