Quick guide to Class 3A No. 4 Heritage Hall at Class 4A No. 3 Clinton

by Jacob Unruh Modified: September 13, 2013 at 1:45 pm •  Published: September 13, 2013

When: 7:30 p.m., Friday

Where: Tornado Bowl

Last week: Heritage Hall 30, Casady 22; Lawton MacArthur 31, Clinton 13

Players to watch: Heritage Hall — Connor McGinnis, QB. The junior accounted for more than 400 total yards last week, but now he faces a pretty potent defense in Clinton at the historic Tornado Bowl. It’ll be a different atmosphere that could present problems for a young player.

Clinton — Marquiz Simpkins, RB. The junior standout struggled to stay on the field last week due to hydration issues. If he stays on the field, Clinton is clearly a better team.

Storylines: Heritage Hall — The Chargers’ main storyline in the offseason was finding an offensive line. The line will need to protect McGinnis against Clinton’s aggressive front in order to have any success.

Clinton — Keep Simpkins on the field. It sounds simple, I know. Last week’s game would have been closer had he been able to remain on the field and be effective.

The pick: Clinton 31, Heritage Hall 24
