One of the night's loudest cheers at Owen Field came after the score of Kentucky's upset over top-ranked LSU was announced. Later in the night, second-ranked Cal was upset by Oregon State. Here's what the OU players had to say about the top two teams in the nation going down Saturday:

•"We heard the LSU score and the crowd erupted. We didn't know what it was at first, then we found out. We were pretty happy. You don't know what's gonna happen in college football these days, so as a team we're trying to go win every game, week-in and week-out. Who knows where we could end up at the end of the season.”

• "I didn't know they both lost. I heard the crowd screaming one time, I guess about LSU. That's crazy. We know we've got to win every week. We can't worry about what someone else is doing. We've got to focus on us getting better and us beating Iowa State.”

• "I had no idea what the crowd was cheering about, but the whispers got around that LSU had lost. I can't say (the upsets) are surprising. The last three weeks, people have been getting upset. The talent pool is real close together this year.”

Seem like when Mike Stoops left, OU's defense has never been the same. our offense would be running smooth but our defensive backs just could not get it. we have the talent. but they are missing something? Take a look at the Missouri game. The defence did great if the coaches (OU) had a defensive back or linebacker running in after the quarterback, but when they went back to the three defensive rushers then our prevent defense could not stop anything? And if you would look back at the games we lost, you could see the same thing. something is wrong there, its not only the players? If we had a defensive coach that was alert. Who knows, we could have maybe done better in those games?
