Railroad Museum to hold celebration event

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (AP) — East Tennessee State University's George L. Carter Railroad Museum will hold its fourth annual "STEAM UP!" celebration later this month.

The event in Johnson City will be on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

It will showcase steam locomotives in miniature form, with trains operated on the large main room layout, including a functional 21-stall steam-era roundhouse.

Also included are display cabinet exhibits and tours of the Tweetsie scale model exhibit, which encompasses 1,300 square feet.
