Rain chances increase as weekend approaches

Summertime heat has returned to Oklahoma, but there's a chance of rain this weekend.
High temperatures today are expected to be from the mid-90s to 100. There a chance of late-day rain and isolated thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service. However, the better chance of rain and thunderstorms, and slightly cooler air will spread south toward the Red River this weekend.
Overnight lows are expected to drop into the lower 60s in the Panhandle and the lower 70s in the southwest, with partly cloudy skies and a chance of rain and thunderstorms in west and northeast Oklahoma.
On Friday, highs should be from the mid-80s in the Panhandle to the mid-90s in the southwest.
Skies on Saturday are expected to be mostly cloudy, with a chance of rain and thunderstorms in eastern Oklahoma. Highs should be from the upper 80s in the northeast to the mid-90s in the southwest.

• Today: Partly cloudy. Highs in the mid-90s. Southerly winds about 10 mph.
• Tonight: Partly cloudy. Lows in the lower 70s. Southerly winds about 10 mph before turning light and variable. Twenty percent chance of thunderstorms.
• Friday: Partly cloudy. Highs in the upper 90s. Light and variable winds before turning to southeasterly winds about 10 mph in the afternoon. Twenty percent chance of thunderstorms.
• Friday night: Partly cloudy. Lows in the lower 70s. Southeasterly winds about 10 mph. Twenty percent chance of thunderstorms.
