An upper ridge of high pressure centered over the central Rockies will build to the east of Oklahoma over the weekend, bringing dry and hot weather on Saturday and Sunday to the southern Plains.
Saturday will range from mostly sunny in the west to partly cloudy in the east, where there will be a chance of rain and thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service. Highs should be from the upper 80s in the northeast to the upper 90s in the west.
Overnight lows will drop into the mid-60s in the Panhandle and the mid-70s in west-central Oklahoma, with partly cloudy skies.
Skies will be mostly sunny on Sunday, with highs in the lower 90s in the east and the upper 90s in the west.

• Saturday: Highs from the upper 80s in the northeast to the upper 90s in the west. Chance of rain and thunderstorms in the east.
• Saturday night: Lows from the mid-60s in the Panhandle to the mid-70s in the west-central.
• Sunday: Highs from the lower 90s in the east to the upper 90s in the west.
• Sunday night: Lows from the upper 60s in the Panhandle to the mid-70s in the south.

• Saturday: Mostly sunny. Highs in the upper 90s. Southerly winds 10 to 15 mph.
• Saturday night: Clear. Lows in the mid-70s. Southerly winds 10 to 15 mph.
• Sunday: Mostly sunny. Highs in the mid-90s. Southerly winds 10 to 20 mph.
• Sunday night: Mostly clear. Lows in the lower 70s. Southerly winds 15 to 20 mph.
