Rangers call up RHP Hurley, send down C Ramirez

OAKLAND, Calif. - The Texas Rangers activated pitcher Eric Hurley to start Sunday against the Oakland Athletics and sent catcher Max Ramirez to Double-A Frisco.

The right-handed Hurley went on the disabled list July 8 because of a strained left hamstring. He last pitched June 29, getting his first major league win by allowing one earned run in 5 2-3 innings to lead Texas past Philadelphia, 5-1.

Hurley is 1-1 with a 3.57 ERA through his first four major league starts.

Ramirez came up from Frisco on June 21 and hit .233 with two home runs and nine RBIs in 13 games. In 67 games with Frisco, he's hitting .363 with 17 homers and 50 RBIs.
