A rape suspect was arrested when he walked into a restaurant where the victim was being interviewed by an Oklahoma City police officer shortly after she was raped.

Robert M. Mcneal, 48, was arrested Tuesday afternoon on complaints of rape and robbery, according to a police report released Wednesday.

The victim told police she was about to enter the family restroom at the Union Bus Station, 427 W Sheridan Ave., when Mcneal told her it was out of order. He said she would need to use the men's restroom downstairs. The woman, believing him to be an employee, went to the men's restroom and entered a stall. She said Mcneal forced himself into the stall and raped her, the report states. Several items, including a bus ticket, were stolen from her purse.

The victim ran to La Luna Mexican Cafe, 409 W Reno Ave., and called police, according to the report. An officer found her hiding in the restaurant's kitchen and asked her to come sit with him in the front dining area and tell him what happened.

While the woman was talking to the officer, she began to panic as a man walked into the dining area, the report said. The officer confronted the man, who said he was only trying to get a drink.

Mcneal was arrested and found to be carrying the victim's bus ticket in his sock, according to the report.

A registered sex offender from Illinois, Mcneal was previously convicted of sexual battery of a 12-year-old female and for raping an elderly woman, the report states.

He is in the Oklahoma County jail with bail set at $90,000, officials said Wednesday. has disabled the comments for this article.
