Attorney General Drew Edmondson sought the grand jury to consider "alleged lewd and lascivious acts against a child under 14.”

Jury selection is scheduled to begin today before District Judge John Maley, followed by issuing of subpoenas for witnesses the rest of the week. Testimony is expected to begin Aug. 31 in Pittsburg County.

Edmondson said his investigators followed leads in three states to uncover new allegations.

"We also found a long history of alleged crimes against children, most of which cannot be pursued because of the statute of limitations,” Edmondson said. "However, knowledge of these past acts will help show a pattern of behavior when the case goes to trial.” has disabled the comments for this article.
