Ratings watch: Conference championship games earn big ratings

KWTV-9's AFC finals rating of 25.7 is up 19 percent from last year

Ratings for the NFL conference championship games were up big in Oklahoma City and nationally. KWTV-9 earned a 25.7 rating for the AFC Championship Game, up 19 percent from last year. KOKH-25 got a 22.3 for the NFC final, up 5 percent from last year. Nationally, the AFC final got a 28.1 — the second-highest rating for the AFC game in 17 years — and averaged 51.3 million viewers, up 22 percent from last year's early championship game. The NFC final drew a 28.5 rating and averaged 55.9 million viewers on Fox, up 17 percent from last year's late game. The Thunder's best rating was a combined 11.7 for the Golden State game Friday night. In men's college basketball Saturday, OSU-Kansas got a 6.4 on KWTV-9 and OU-Baylor a 4.8 on ESPN.
