Children 11 and under will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of fun activities that promote reading and literacy. The first 1,000 children 11 and under to attend will receive a free book courtesy of Target!

While at the Zoo, children will learn dance moves to the well-liked children’s book Chicka Chicka Boom Boom from Capitol Hill High School and Metro Technology Centers student volunteers, attend story time sessions in the Children’s Zoo at Grandma’s Porch, visit the alphabet stations located along zoo lake side and meet Bullseye, the Target dog, Ellie, the Zoo’s elephant mascot and popular PBS Kids characters Super Why!, Curious George and Clifford the Big Red Dog.
