A tornado swept through Moore Monday afternoon, flattening homes and killing dozens of people in its path.
The state medical examiner's office reports 24 people were killed in the tornado, and the death toll is expected to rise, according to The Associated Press.
Briarwood Elementary School, 14901 Hudson Ave. off of SW 149, was heavily damaged by the twister. Moore Medical Center was also hit by the storm and is being evacuated, spokeswoman Kelly Wells said.
Another tornado reportedly touched down outside of Sparks in southern Lincoln County. A spokeswoman said the damage was not immediately known.
