Hot Chocolate

6 ounces shaved semisweet chocolate, or nibs

2 cups half-and-half

2 to 4 teaspoons powdered sugar

Marshmallows, optional

Ground cinnamon, optional

• Heat a medium saucepan over medium heat.

• Pour in half-and-half, then lightly whisk in chocolate until the mixture begins to foam and reaches boiling point. Remove from heat and stir in sugar and sweeten to taste. Then whisk vigorously to desired frothiness.
