NORMAN — Sometimes, music just sounds better when you’re listening to it on vinyl.

My husband has a large collection of vinyl, and sometimes I’ll sneak into his "man room,” dig through his albums (most of which I don’t care for) and pull out something like The Doors. There’s something exhilarating and relaxing about hearing the needle hit the record, and then the scratchy fuzz before the music begins.

If you’re looking to add some vinyl to your collection, consider heading to Guestroom Records on Saturday where they will be celebrating the second annual Record Store Day. The event was created to celebrate independent music stores and the musical diversity they offer their communities.

"Shopping at an independent record store is different,” Will Muir with Guestroom Records said.
