EL RENO — Police on Jan. 12 found the bodies of four children in a bathtub in their apartment, court documents reveal.
The children’s mother, Summer Rust, 25, was found dead in bed in an adjoining bedroom. Officials with the state medical examiner later removed her body wrapped in the bed’s comforter.
The new details about the murder case are revealed in a police detective’s request to search the apartment for weapons and other physical evidence. Police also reveal what was found in the apartment. The detective’s request, the search warrant and the inventory were filed Friday.
Ex-convict Joshua Durcho is accused in a first-degree murder charge of strangling his girlfriend; her daughters, Kirsten Rust, 7, Autumn Rust, 7, and Evynn Garas, 3; and her son, Teagin Rust, 4.
Collected as evidence from the apartment were a brown belt with buckle, a white pillow with a suspected bloodstain, a cell phone wall charger, a knotted red cloth, two pieces of "black cord/wire” with yellow plugs on the ends, a white shoelace and a dog leash.
Police do not disclose in the documents whether any of the evidence has been identified as the murder weapon.
Durcho, 26, is in the Canadian County jail.
