A strung-out mother was so high she didn’t realize she had stabbed her own baby and stuffed him in a trash can, according to court records.

Latasha Harmon, 24, told police she smoked a marijuana blunt laced with PCP, took ecstasy and used Ambien sleeping pills Friday before stabbing her baby son with a comb knife, according to a probable cause affidavit filed Monday in Oklahoma County District Court.

"I stabbed my boy,” she told paramedics, according to the affidavit. "I stabbed the baby.”

Harmon also told police: "I didn’t believe Elijah was my son. I didn’t mean to hurt him.”

The baby, who was identified in the affidavit as Elijah Humphreys, is expected to survive.

A blunt is a small cigar rolled with tobacco. Marijuana smokers often replace the tobacco with pot, and the outer leaf of the blunt can be laced with other drugs.

A comb knife is a comb that features a built-in knife. Harmon told police she bought the comb knife two weeks ago at a flea market, according to the affidavit.

Paramedics recovered the baby Friday from a trash can at the Circle K store at SW 59 and May Avenue.

According to police, Harmon was running naked and screaming before and after the stabbing.

No charges have been filed against Harmon. She remained Monday in the Oklahoma County jail on felony complaints of child abuse and assault with a deadly weapon.
