SECAUCUS, N.J. (AP) — New York Red Bulls midfielder Jorge Rojas has undergone surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee.
The Major League Soccer team announced the surgery on Wednesday, noting that Rojas would need three to four months to rehabilitate. The MLS regular season concluded recently and the Red Bulls missed the playoffs.
Rojas' surgery was performed by Dr. Riley Williams at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. The Venezuelan international was hurt in a game against New England on Sept. 18.
Rojas started 19 of 21 games this season, recording two goals and two assists.
