HARRISON, N.J. (AP) — The New York Red Bulls have signed defender Jamison Olave to a new contract.

Olave was the team's defensive player of the year last year, when the center back appeared in 29 regular-season games and led New York defenders with four goals.

The 32-year-old Colombian was acquired with forward Fabian Espindola from Real Salt Lake for allocation money on Dec. 3, 2012. His agreement was announced Wednesday.
