Red flag warning for warm, windy day Thursday in Oklahoma

Warm weather returns Thursday in central Oklahoma. With winds gusting up to 29 mph in central Oklahoma, a red flag warning for fire danger has been issued by the weather service.

A red flag warning for wildfire danger has been issued for Thursday in central, southwest and south central Oklahoma, the National Weather Service reports.

Gusty winds, warm temperatures and low humidity will elevate the risk for wildfires. The red flag warning is in effect from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday.

The Oklahoma City forecast is as follows:

Thursday: Mostly sunny with a high near 82. West, southwest wind 15 to 21 mph with gusts as high as 29 mph.

Thursday night: Mostly clear with a low around 40. North, northwest wind 11 to 20 mph with gusts as high as 28 mph.

Friday: Sunny with a high near 62. North, northwest wind 11 to 17 mph with gusts as high as 24 mph.

Friday night: Mostly clear with a low around 40. North wind 5 to 9 mph becoming southeast after midnight.

Saturday: A 10 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m. Mostly sunny with a high near 65. Southeast wind 7 to 13 mph.

Saturday night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy with a low around 46.

Sunday: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Cloudy with a high near 59.

Sunday night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Cloudy with a low around 43.

Monday: A 20 percent chance of showers. Partly sunny with a high near 62.

Monday night: Mostly cloudy with a low around 43.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny with a high near 61.

Tuesday Night Mostly clear, with a low around 41.

Wednesday Sunny, with a high near 68.
