Red flag warning in effect Tuesday for high fire danger in Oklahoma

High fire danger is ahead Tuesday in Oklahoma. The warning for central, southwest, northern and northeast Oklahoma is in effect at 1 p.m. until 8 p.m.

There will be high fire danger across parts of Oklahoma Tuesday as temperatures warm up and winds pick up, the National Weather Service reports.

A red flag warning is in effect from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. for central, southwest, northern and northeast Oklahoma.

The Oklahoma City area will also be under a wind advisory overnight.

The forecast for Oklahoma City is as follows:

Tuesday: Sunny with a high near 80. South, southwest wind 11 to 21 mph with gusts as high as 29 mph.

Tuesday: Mostly cloudy with a low around 36. Windy with a north northwest wind 29 to 32 mph with gusts as high as 45 mph.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny with a high near 55. North wind 18 to 22 mph with gusts as high as 31 mph.

Wednesday night: Mostly clear with a low around 32. North wind 10 to 15 mph becoming light and variable after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 21 mph.

Thursday: Sunny with a high near 64. Southwest wind 5 to 15 mph with gusts as high as 21 mph.

Thursday night: Partly cloudy with a low around 42.

Friday: A 20 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy with a high near 66.

Friday night: Partly cloudy with a low around 40.

Saturday: Mostly sunny with a high near 68.

Saturday night: Mostly cloudy with a low around 45.

Sunday: A 20 percent chance of showers. Partly sunny with a high near 62.

Sunday night: Mostly cloudy with a low around 38.

Monday: Sunny with a high near 60.
