Oklahoma City won its four-game series with Round Rock with a victory Thursday night at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark.

Left-hander Michael Kirkman started for Oklahoma City and went five innings. He allowed four hits and one earned run. It was a vast improvement over his first start, when he gave up four runs on six hits over five innings Saturday vs. Albuquerque.

"He settled down and got into a groove and got the job done,” RedHawks manager Bobby Jones said of Thursday’s game.

The RedHawks received a double and a triple from Chad Tracy, who is hitting .343. Oklahoma City’s bullpen allowed just one hit over four innings.

"We battled. We had a few more chances to score, but we did what we had to do and got a win and that’s all that counts,” Jones said.

HOLLAND, MORELAND TAKE LEAVE
Pitcher Derek Holland and outfielder Mitch Moreland have left the team to attend the funerals of their grandfathers, Jones said. They are expected to re-join the team today for the start of a four-game stand at Memphis.

UP NEXT
RedHawks (RH Guillermo Moscoso, 0-0, 4.50 ERA) at Memphis (RH Adam Ottavino, 1-0, 5.40 ERA), 7:05 tonight. This is the RedHawks’ first road trip of the season.
