Redskins K Cundiff can't afford another bad game
ASHBURN, Va. (AP) — Billy Cundiff can't afford another bad game.
The Washington Redskins kicker managed to keep his job by hitting the game-winning 41-yarder Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Cundiff is quite sure he would have been cut if he had missed the kick. He was 0 for 3 in the game up to that point — in a season in which NFL kickers are more accurate than ever.
Said coach Mike Shanahan: "Obviously, if you miss too many, your employment's not very long."
Cundiff will be kicking again for the Redskins this week when they host the Atlanta Falcons.
