Boston College guard Reggie Jackson was viewed a mysterious candidate heading into Thursday night's NBA Draft.
Jackson pulled out of the Chicago pre-draft camp and also a group workout in Minnesota in mid-May. He refused to have individual workouts for several teams and there were unanswered questions concerning a knee injury.
Evidently, there was far less mystery to Jackson for the Oklahoma City Thunder, which is why the Northwest Division champions selected him with the No. 24 overall pick.
Thunder general manager Sam Presti confirmed Jackson worked out for the team in Oklahoma City.
Addressing the media around 11:30 p.m. Thursday, Presti repeatedly said he “was comfortable with the information” they had on the 6-foot-3, 208-pound Jackson.
“We feel very good about the process and the information we were able to gather on him throughout the season,” Presti said. “We did have him in Oklahoma City. He's a guy who's a willing learner. He's a guy with great athletic ability. He's a guy who can shoot the ball. He's a guy who really understands he has room to grow and wants to improve and that's where his focus is.”
There were numerous reports Jackson's representatives refused to share medical records on his injury and one executive reportedly told SI.
