While there's still time to register for the 37th annual Oklahoma Conference on Aging, there isn't much time.

The conference, themed “Secrets of Aging: Hidden Treasures,” is the largest of its kind in Oklahoma. It consists of one day for seniors and two days for professional development of workers, students and advocates in the field of aging.

Senior Day, May 15, is free to Oklahomans 60 years of age and older. It will include 13 breakout sessions on topics such as Medicare, legal issues, medication, improving memory and senior hunger, according to a news release. A Senior Wellness Expo will offer free health screenings, fitness demonstrations and wellness exhibitions. Attendees can enjoy a film festival, exhibit hall and awards luncheon for poetry contest and spelling bee winners.

Presenters include Vickey Rose, 2011 Ms. Senior Oklahoma; Lance Robertson, aging services division director of the Oklahoma Department of Human Services; and Bruce Carnes of the Reynolds Department of Geriatric Medicine at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. He will present a talk titled “Lessons from Biology on the Nature of Aging and Longevity.”

While Senior Day events are free, registration is required. The deadline is Friday. To register, go to okagingconference.com. Group registration is available online.
