Registration open for car show in Mustang

MUSTANG — Pre-registration is under way for the Summer Sizzler Car Show and Poker Run scheduled June 14 at Wild Horse Park. The event will benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association, organizers said.

Registration is $25 for the car show and can be completed at any central Oklahoma 7-Eleven store until June 11. Registration includes a commemorative T-shirt. Poker registration is $25, or $40 a couple, event spokeswoman Tammy Ridgeway said.

Registration after the June 11 cutoff is available the day of the event at Wild Horse Park, 1201 N Mustang Road.

Funds raised at the event will help the Muscular Dystrophy Association sponsor summer camps, clinics, support groups, research and financial assistance for the purchase or repair of medical equipment, including communication devices for those affected by the disease, Ridgeway said.

The car show will begin at 11 a.m., and judging ends at 1 p.m. Awards will be announced at 2:30 p.m.

The poker run will take a cruise to a number of Oklahoma City area 7-Eleven stores. A live auction and music will be provided at the event.
