Concert series continues

Flute music will be featured during the next First Tuesday@First Lutheran concert set for noon Tuesday at First Lutheran Church of Oklahoma City, 1300 N Robinson.

Sacred and secular holiday music will be performed by the Oklahoma City University Flute Choir, directed by Parthen Owens.

Church plans Advent services

A series of Taize Prayer Services will be held at St. Phillip Neri Catholic Church beginning Thursday. Each service will begin at 6 p.m. at the church, 1107 Felix Place.

Prayer services also will be offered Dec. 13 and 20.

Parking is available in the east parking lot across the street from the church entrance. The public is invited for prayer, reflection and song during the Advent season.

Buddhist talks are planned

A Buddhist leader will teach several Buddhism sessions in the metro area.

Kelsang Namdrol, an American Buddhist nun and resident teacher of Kalpa Bhadra Kadampa Buddhist Center in Wichita, Kan., will present a “A Web of Kindness” seminar from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at M+Yoga Studio, 7632 N Western in Nichols Hills.

The meditation and Buddhist thought class will focus on developing a heart of appreciation and joy. Cost is $10.

Namdrol also will give a free lecture on “How to Solve Our Human Problems” from 11 a.m. to noon Dec. 8 at Full Circle Books, 50 Penn Place.

The talk is based on the four noble truths by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso.

The annual Lebanese Christmas Lunch will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Dec. 9 at St. Therese Maronite Catholic Church, 8315 S 107 E Ave.
