Shelter seeks food donations
Rick Denney, Jesus House president and CEO, said the shelter is seeking public support of its Christmas outreach activities. The organization is seeking the donation of hams, turkeys and traditional, nonperishable, holiday side items to be distributed to low income families to prepare their own Christmas dinners. The food will be distributed from 8 a.m. to noon Monday, or while supplies last. Denney said food basket recipients will need a photo ID and proof of residential address. Jesus House also will accept donations of toys. The shelter tries to give an unwrapped toy to each child in line with a parent or guardian to receive Christmas groceries.
