Gospel show is planned
MOORE — A Gospel Singing Show featuring the Good News Quartet and other musicians will be at 6 p.m. Sunday at River Life Church, 910 S Santa Fe. The event is sponsored by the Oklahoma Gospel Music Association.

Church hosts SummerSing
PURCELL — Sunray Baptist Church will host its eighth annual SummerSing Gospel Singing at 6:30 p.m. June 22 at the church, 2223 N Ninth. For His Purpose from Stillwater and Mark Bishop of Irvine, Ky., will sing at the event. For His Purpose is composed of Stan Tunnell, Linda Parks, Sheryl Beeler and Dale Frost.
Bishop started his career singing with his father, Kenneth, and brother, Kenny, as The Bishops. He began a solo career in 2001.
Admission is free. A love offering will be taken.

Preparedness class is set
BLANCHARD — A free emergency preparedness seminar will be hosted from 7 to 9 p.m. June 27 by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 117 W Blanchard.
Tammy Sagastizado, seminar coordinator, said information and demonstrations will focus on topics like food storage, first aid kits, canning, natural disaster preparation, emergency preparedness, 72-hour kits, Dutch oven cooking and living without electricity. A children's area and other fun activities also will be offered.
Jon Tankersley, of Newcastle Emergency Management, will be on hand to discuss emergency preparedness. He will also have sign-up sheets for the Community Emergency Response Team class, a free CERT training course. In the event of a natural or man-made disaster, CERT volunteers are often the first on the scene, and fill much-needed trained support roles for government emergency efforts.

Epworth Villa names chaplain
The Rev. Lisa A. Crone has been named chaplain for Epworth Villa, a faith-based senior retirement community at 14901 N Pennsylvania in Oklahoma City. Crone will provide pastoral care to about 700 residents and staff.
Crone brings 27 years of experience in the ordained ministry of the United Methodist Church. She recently worked as a chaplain at Integris Health Edmond and Integris Baptist Medical Center. She also served as a senior pastor at St. Paul's United Methodist Church and chaplain at Oklahoma City University.
Crone graduated from Southern Methodist University in Texas with a Masters of Divinity Degree. She also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music at Oklahoma City University. Crone is a member of the Oklahoma Conference Christian Educators Association. She serves as an elder with the Oklahoma Conference of the United Methodist Church.
