Priest's installation is planned

The Rev. John Metzinger will be installed as rector of Our Lady's Cathedral at 5 p.m. Saturday at 3214 N Lake Ave.

Archbishop Paul S. Coakley will preside at the installation Mass. A supper will be held after the services.

Metzinger served as longtime clergy leader of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Edmond until Coakley appointed him rector of Our Lady's. Metzinger's appointment came after Monsignor Edward Weisenburger, longtime rector of Our Lady's Cathedral and vicar general of the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City, was appointed Bishop of Salina (Kan.) by the pope.

Praise dancers to perform

The Biannual Praise Dance Conference continues through Sunday at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, 5700 N Kelley.

A conference session will be at 5 p.m. Saturday. A special performance by the St. John Visual Praise Dancers will be during worship services at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at the church.

Guest clinician is Kim Chere-Hardy of New Orleans.

Labyrinth walk is set

EDMOND — A labyrinth walk will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church of Edmond, 305 E Hurd.

The walk will take place in the church's Christian activities center, just north of the main church building. The walk are free and open to the public.

Agencies offer fatherhood event

The fourth annual Fathers Rock ‘n Role conference will be from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. June 21 at Moore Norman Technology Center, 13301 S Pennsylvania in Oklahoma City.

The free conference is sponsored by the Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives, Oklahoma Department of Health and Human Services and Public Strategies. The day's events are structured for government agencies, organizations and ministries currently involved in or interested in providing resources to fathers. Fathers, grandfathers and other caregivers (male or female) are encouraged to attend.
