Phillips Theological Seminary announces new dean

— The Rev. Nancy Claire Pittman, Ph.D., will be the new dean of Phillips Theological Seminary, the school recently announced. Gary Peluso-Verdend, the seminary's president, said the current dean, Don A. Pittman, Ph.D., will retire July 31.

“When we considered Nancy's significant contributions to the seminary in revising two degree programs, her scholarship, her service to the church and the community, her institutional citizenship, and her reputation as a preacher and workshop leader among the Disciples of Christ, we concluded that Nancy was the right candidate,” Peluso-Verdend said in a prepared statement.

Currently, Pittman is director of the seminary's Doctor of Ministry Program.
