Miss Oklahoma to visit Bethany
BETHANY — Betty Thompson, Miss Oklahoma 2011, will be guest speaker at 9:15 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Sunday at Council Road Baptist Church, 2900 N Council. During the 2012 Miss America Pageant, Thompson won a preliminary talent award and was named first runner-up to Miss America. Thompson is the niece of the Rev. Rick Thompson, Council Road Baptist's senior pastor. She will be the church's guest as the congregation begins a sermon series, “Family Matters: God's Plan for the Family.”

Singles ministry sets outreach
MOORE — The Singles Ministry at First Baptist Church of Moore will host “Friday Night Live for HIM,” a singles outreach event at 6 p.m. Friday at the church, 301 NE 27.
The event will feature praise and worship music, along with special guest speaker, Doug Dees. Recreation activities will follow the service. An optional dinner will be offered for $5.

Church to host gathering
EDMOND — Church of the Good Shepherd, a traditional Episcopal congregation in the Anglican tradition, will host a meeting of the Anglican Church USA and the Anglican Church International Communion from Friday through May 20 at 1000 N Broadway.
The Rt. Rev. Larry Johnson, presiding bishop of the Anglican Church USA and archbishop of the Anglican Church International Communion, will preside at the gathering. Several bishops will be consecrated and accepted into the Anglican Church USA and the Anglican Church International Communion at 10 a.m. May 19 at the church.
The public is invited to attend.
