Poteet theater takes trip to ‘Oz'

A production of “The Wizard of Oz” will open Friday at the Poteet Theatre at St Luke's United Methodist Church, 222 NW 15.

Performances of the Frank L. Baum classic will run through Dec. 9. Thursday, Friday and Saturday performances will begin at 8 p.m. and the Sunday matinee begins at 3 p.m. Tickets are $20 and may be purchased by calling 609-1023 or by visiting the theater's website at

Concert set at church

A Candlelight Concert will be at 6 p.m. Nov. 17 at Wildewood Baptist Church, 60 NE 63.

The concert will be performed by the church's music ministry and feature soloist Cynthia Williamson. D. Wayne Lee is director of the music ministry. For more information, call 842-2655.

Anniversary service is planned

Tabernacle Baptist Church will celebrate its 116 church anniversary with a homecoming service set for 11 a.m. Nov. 18 at 1829 NE 36.

The Rev. John L. Mayshack, Tabernacle's pastor emeritus, will preach the anniversary message.
