Tulsa group plans concert

The Kemp Concert Services at First Presbyterian Church of Oklahoma City will present the Tulsa Oratorio Chorus and Tulsa Children's Chorus in concert at 4 p.m. Sunday at the church, 1001 NW 25.

Together the choral groups will perform John Rutter's “Mass of the Children.” The Tulsa Oratorio Chorus also will perform Ralph Vaughan Williams' “Hodie.”

Tim Sharp is the artistic director and conductor of the Tulsa Oratorio Chorus.

The concert is free and open to the public.

University group to perform

Souls A'Fire, a gospel group that has been a thriving part of Oral Roberts University for the past 40 years, will lead worship at 10:45 a.m. Sunday at First United Methodist Church of Oklahoma City, 131 NW 4.

The group's repertoire ranges from anthems to contemporary gospel.

Building dedication marks 50 years

NICHOLS HILLS — Christ the King Catholic Church and School will mark the 50th anniversary of the dedication of its church building on Sunday with the dedication and blessing of a new junior high building.

The Most Rev. Paul S. Coakley, Archbishop of Oklahoma City, will preside at a special Mass commemorating the anniversary at 10 a.m. at 8005 Dorset Drive. The Mass will feature the adult choir singing Mozart's “Sparrow Mass” under the direction of Ken Southard and the church's organist and music director Edwin Day. The St. Gregory Student Choir of Christ the King School will perform at the Mass under the direction of music teacher Dallas Gambrell. The day's celebration will culminate in a procession to the new junior high building for its dedication and blessing by Archbishop Coakley.
