Vespers event is planned
The Rev. Ron Woolsey will present a free vespers concert of classic sacred and gospel music at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Edmond Seventh-day Adventist Church, 13812 Scott St.
Woolsey, pastor of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Marshall, Ariz., combines his instrumental presentations on marimba and accordion with a personal message of divine rescue from a
previous lifestyle of self-destruction.
Woolsey is speaker-director of The Narrow Way Ministry, a ministry of missions, message and music.

School offers outreach events
The School of Metaphysics has several events planned for October.
The school will host a Dream Webinar at 9 a.m. Saturday in which participants will learn how to interpret dreams.
A lecture titled “Present Day Ties to our Past Lives” will be from noon to 1 p.m. at the Downtown Library, 300 Park Ave.
A lecture on “Intuitive Reports from Akasha” will be offered from 2 to 3 p.m. Oct. 27.

Christian Science lecture is offered
Christian Science practitioner Mary Alice Rose of Brookeville, Md., will present a Christian Science lecture at 2 p.m. Oct. 21 at the Northwest Library, 5600 NW 122.
Her talk is entitled “Has technology made God and spirituality obsolete?”
Rose's ideas are based on the teachings of Jesus as recorded in the Bible, and as discussed in “Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures” by Mary Baker Eddy.
She has worked as a National Severe Storms Laboratory meteorologist and also as a manager developing the ground system for the Hubble Space Telescope. In 2002, she entered into full-time ministry as a Christian Science practitioner. Rose is a member of the Christian Science Board of Lectureship.

Church to host running events
The “Faster than the Pastor” 5k run will be at 9 a.m. Oct. 27 at Quail Springs Baptist Church, 14613 N May.
Cost for the event is $24. Individuals who register by Wednesday will receive a T-shirt.
A “Faster than the Children's Pastor” 1k fun run for children will begin at 8:30 a.m. Cost for the children's event is $13.
