Iconography classes are set

St. Gregory's University, 1900 W McArthur, is accepting students for an iconography workshop set for May 20-24. The workshop, “Creating Sacred Images: Icons on Glass,” will focus on techniques used in Romanian reverse-glass iconography. Rodica Focseneanu Cunningham and Christopher Cunningham, who have masters of fine arts degrees, will lead the workshop. Sessions will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. At the end of the week, the participants' icons will be blessed by a priest from St. Gregory's Abbey. Participants can earn three hours of visual arts course credit by enrolling in the workshop, or they can audit the course for $335. An additional $50 materials fee also will be assessed. Arrangements may be made to stay in university dorms during the workshop for $10 per day. To register, call 878-5433 or 878-5434. For more information, contact Sheryl Cozad at 651-1594 or via email at secozad@stgregorys.edu. To learn more about the Cunninghams, go to www.iconsbyrc.com.
