The 28th annual Renaissance Run will be held at 8:30 a.m. Sept. 20 at the Nick Harroz Community Center, 200 N Midwest Blvd.

Preregistration before Sept. 12 is $25 for adults and $10 for children 12 and younger. The race entry fee includes a T-shirt for the first 350 entrants. Registration on race day is $30 for all ages.

The event will conclude with a pancake breakfast at Midwest Regional Medical Center.

The event draws seasoned runners as well as those who want to walk the course.

“We are fortunate to see so many returning runners each year,” said Larry Terry, chairman of the race committee. “We welcome walkers and runners who have never participated in our 5k run.”

Renaissance Run is sanctioned by USA Track and Field. The road race company timing this year’s Renaissance Run is DG Productions.

Medallions will be given to the first-, second- and third-place winners in standard age brackets for men and women. The overall male and female winners will receive trophies. Co-workers, families and friends can organize race teams.

“Any group can sign up as a team, with the most walker/runner entries winning our community spirit award,” Terry said.
