Rep. Jim Bridenstine, R-Tulsa, who announced Wednesday that he would not seek the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Sen. Tom Coburn, said Thursday he has not endorsed a candidate in the race _ meaning either Rep. James Lankford, R-Oklahoma City, or Oklahoma House Speaker T.W. Shannon, R-Lawton.
Bridenstine said there had been media reports and “innuendo from candidates suggesting I support one candidate or the other. This is simply not correct.”
An Associated Press report about Shannon’s press conference in Tulsa on Wednesday said Shannon “praised Bridenstine’s support for his Senate bid.”
