Report: Daxx Garman will transfer to Oklahoma State

Former Jones quarterback Daxx Garman will transfer from Arizona to Oklahoma State, the Arizona Republic reported.

The family then moved to the Dallas area, and Garman won the starting quarterback position at Southlake Carroll. But he was ruled ineligible there right after his senior season started because of more eligibility questions.

Garman told the Republic that his transfer had more to do with moving closer to his parents, who still live in Southlake, than the changing offensive scheme at Arizona.

The Wildcats fired coach Mike Stoops in the middle of this season and hired former West Virginia and Michigan coach Rich Rodriguez to replace him.

Garman was granted a scholarship release before Rodriguez was hired. He spent his true freshman season as the Wildcats' third-string quarterback behind Nick Foles and Bryson Beirne, also a true freshman.
